Townsville Daily Bulletin copy on file of 6 June 1961 reported a cone shaped object stationary at times, other times "rapid dashes across the sky." To naked eye-dull star-through binoculars cone shaped half surface red. Seen 11.30am. Police saw it at 1255hrs till 1450hrs. Turned at times. Moved quickly at times. Courier Mail 7 June 1961 reported Police watched similar object stationary in sky 6 June 1961 thought it was Venus. ]
