Short UFO fact: [On September 4, 1964, 28 year old Donald Shrum and his friends were bow and arrow hunting at Cisco Grove, Placer County, California. Shrum had become separated from the rest of the group and decided to sleep. His attention was drawn, however, to the sight of a white light which zig-zagged through the trees at low altitude. It was a strange-looking object, different from anything he had seen before. After a short period of time, he was shocked to see three beings approaching the tree. Two of them seemed to be a humanoid-type of being, while the third was more robot-like. Shock became utter panic now, as the three began to shake the tree in an attempt to dislodge him. He vividly recalls a white vapor being shot from the robot's mouth; which rendered him unconcious. As dawn approached Shrum was soon rescued, and reunited with the other hunters. ]

Short UFO fact: [At approximately 5:00 p.m. on the evening of December 21, as he drove east along Route 250 between Staunton and Waynesboro, Virginia, Horace Burns, a gunsmith in Harrisonburg, saw an immense cone-shaped object cross low over the highway ahead of him. It was moving in a north to south direction at a slow speed estimated to be about 15 mph. The point of the cone was tipped slightly forward in the object's line of flight. The object was so large, that when it crossed the road ahead of him it had more than filled the entire width of his windshield. In the gathering darkness, Burns could not make out with certainty the exact nature of the object's surface material but it gave the appearance of a dull, metallic finish.]

Smith, accompanied by his 14 year old son Alan, and three other witnesses , were captivated with watching an unusual, multi-colored UFO. Mr. Smith was a turbine engine specialist, working with American Airlines. The unknown object seemed to be slowly moving toward the five witnesses. Still some several hundred yards away, it paused briefly and hovered. At that precise moment, Alan snapped a photograph with his inexpensive camera, using ASA 64 film. His picture was extensively analyzed, pronounced authentic, and later published by Life magazine and many newspapers.]

Short UFO fact: [In Johannesburg, S. Africa, Sept.17, 1965 Constable John Lockem and Koos de Klerek were doing routine patrol on the Pretoria-Bronkhorstspruit road. The lights on their police van lit up an object ahead of them on the road. Sitting right on the highway was a disc-shaped object. The object was not anything they had seen before. With the object lit up from their headlights, it appeared to be of a copper color, and was about 30 feet in diameter. After only a few seconds, the UFO began to rise above the road, and quickly sped away, throwing flames from double tubes of some type on the bottom. Further investigation indicated that parts of the road had caved in, as if from a heavy object resting on it. The gravel had been separated from the tar in an area severely burned about six feet in diameter, indicating the center underneath of the UFO. The case remains unexplained.]

Short UFO fact: [CARSWELL AFB. Air Force base in Texas where a famous and well documented sighting took place at 2300 hours on 4th February 1954 in full view of the control tower personnel. The object passed directly over the Carswell tower at 3-4,000 feet, and was described as having a long fuselage, elliptical wings and a stabilizer, but with no visible means of propulsion. No sound could be detected. The aircraft had a very bright light in the nose and tail, and two yellowish lights on the bottom. Subsequent investigations revealed that no local aircraft were responsible, and that they was no unusual activity that could contribute to the sighting. Since the flames were blocking the road, they had to stop the car about 65 yards away from the craft and the three of them got out. Vickie and Colby stayed by the car, whereas Betty went on to get a closer look. She spent a long time gazing at it and her skin began to burn because of the heat from the flames. She returned to the car when the object began to rise and a large number of unmarked black helicopters chased after the UFO.]
