Short UFO fact: [White Sands Missile Range is located about 100 miles from Roswell and was the site of the first atomic bomb detonation in 1945 (then known as White Sands Proving Ground). It has various connections the famous Roswell Crash in that personnel at White Sands were the first to report the object in the sky on July 1st 1947, and also that the Roswell case was also thought to of been a missile launched from the site but malfunctioned. ]

Short UFO fact: [WHITE SIDES is a small mountain, formerly on public land along the military border, that once offered an unobstructed view of the secret Groom Lake air base about 13 miles to the southwest. Discovered by UFO watchers shortly after Bob Lazar came forward with his S-4 flying saucer claims. The name is shown on USGS maps and comes for the mountains light-colors sides. This land was withdrawn from public use along with Freedom Ridge in April 1995 and is no longer legally accessible.]
